WELCOME to the new blog!
This is the new (and certainly improved) No. 17 Cherry Tree Lane!
Do you love it as much as I do? It just feels like "home" to me now. I couldn't be happier! Thanks to my new favorite person, Melanie, I now have a blog "home" where I feel so happy and sunshine-y. Kinda like a kid with a bowl of candy.
And while we are still working out a few kinks (apparently Blogger is cranky and wants to take 75 hours to import all of my archived posts), the new No. 17 is here and I am just giddy!
If you haven't noticed, over on the right under the shot of the blonde, there is a icon for ATTIC 17. That is one of my favorite new places EVER! A place were I will sell one vintage item at a time. Hand-picked by yours truly for YOU. It's a first-come, first-served forum, so if you love it, snatch it up! I will post unique, exciting and truly special items that are just delightful. Seriously....you will love the stuff. Go now! I love the first item!
If you are looking for old posts, have no fear! We are working on moving my old blog here, but are having a nasty time importing 2 1/2 years worth of text and photos! I am planning on keeping my old blog open for several months for people to refer back to in time of frantic need!! I mean......who knows. You may NEED a recipe of mine. Or perhaps you may NEED to see one of my old hair-do's or watch Kensington dance. Who knows.

My house currently smells like cinnamon--it is Christmas time in my house: Chirstmas tree is up, wreath is hanging (on the inside of the door!), snowman decorations, glitter pinecones on my coffee table...my favorite time of year!

Since you love christmas as much as me, i thought i would share my favorite tradition. Every year we have "cookie day" at my grandma's. We make HUNDREDS of cookies for Christmas Eve (which we have instead of pie or cake). The cookies are all old family recipes from depression era, where you use shortning and sift your flour. My grandma is now 85, but she still pulls an all nighter to help get the cookies done!
